2006 Cartlidge & Browne Zinfandel
Zinfandel is a varietal most confuse as a white sweet wine because they are first introduced to it as White Zinfandel. Though some may enjoy White Zinfandel, Zinfandel in it's true form is a red wine. Zinfandel is widely grown throughout California and pairs well with various barbeque selections. We decided to pair this California favorite with an American classic, the hamburger.
A light nose of ripe dark fruit, when tasting you pick up smokey dark cherries with a hint of spice. The seasoning of the hamburger and your select condiments pairs well with the fruitiness of the wine. Next time you are grilling, don't forget the Zin!
